Fairmont Ave. Community Group

Fairmont Ave. Community Group

Hello! The Rohrbacher family consists of two adults (Brandon & Emily), three kids (Ella, Luke, Gideon), and one hermit crab (Jolly) who continues to live despite rejecting every attempt we make at feeding him. We are native WVians, Emily growing up in Farmington, WV, and Brandon in Grafton, WV. Our three kids are ages six and under so our favorite things to do as a family involve anything that gets us out of the house and keeps all of the kids alive. We are especially fond of going to zoos together. Our kids’ favorite zoo is the “Pixburgh Zoo.”

Our Community Group currently meets on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 PM in Fairmont. It’s often easy for Christians to develop relationships that are mediated exclusively through reading the Bible together. When the Bible time is done, the relationship is over. We want our Community Group to be more than that. We want to focus on discipleship by reading and reflecting on the Bible together. We want to build community by playing games together and learning to enjoy one another. We want to go out on mission together by locking arms as we engage our friends, neighbors, and co-workers in intentional relationships. When we do these things, we learn to love Christ and one another together.

Locust Ave. Community Group

Locust Ave. Community Group

Hello! We’re the Gardners and we lead the Locust Community Group. We met at Fairmont State University while we were both in college and have since gotten married, graduated, got jobs, had two crazy boys (Levi and Isaac), and started attending Crossroads. I (Lucas) work as a civil engineer while Hailee does the hard work of keeping up with the boys. As a family, we enjoy playing board games, being outside, and tackling projects around our house.

As a community group, we aim to grow together in Christ with the friends God has given us by sharing meals and game nights together, studying scripture, and practicing the mission Jesus has given us. The missional focus of our group is FSU, and as a new group, we are trying to establish a presence on campus and relationships with Students for the glory of God. We meet on Thursday evenings at 6:30, either at our home or at FSU (both near Locust Avenue). We would love for you to join us!

White Hall Community Group

White Hall Community Group

Hey! My wife, Amanda, and I have two older daughters and one High Schooler (Jazmin).  We met in college (Liberty University) and moved to Pleasant Valley in 2011. We lead the White Hall community group and love to see everyone in a group where they can grow in the knowledge and grace of Jesus. We also love having a place where you can begin new relationships and deepen existing ones with one another. Our group sometimes meets in Bridgeport, too! My wife grew up here in Lost Creek, WV. I married her, and we moved to Texas and Oklahoma but came “home” to Fairmont in 2011. Our group has people of all ages and stages of life (similar to all of our groups) and you are welcome to join ours to get plugged in!

Our group meets on Wednesdays from 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM. Sometimes we meet in White Hall and sometimes we meet in Bridgeport. We love having a place to meet that is in Bridgeport and close to Clarksburg. We have a different food theme every week and spend the first 30 minutes relaxing with a meal together. After that, we rotate between going over the most recent sermon to apply the gospel to our lives and then nights that celebrate fun and friendships. We strategically plan
events throughout the year where we get to interact with our community to share the gospel with those around us. Many of our events have focused on Palatine Park, which is where the city is revitalizing and families are meeting. We’d love for you to join our group!
