Crossroads Kids

At Crossroads, we strive to offer an age appropriate worship/church experience for children of all ages. We will not hide these truths from our children, We will tell the next generation about the glorious deeds of the Lord, about His power and His mighty wonders. ~ Psalm 78:4 The purpose of Crossroads children’s ministry is to create a learning where children can learn foundational truths about God, Jesus, the Bible, church, others, self, family, and God’s creation. Our goal is to aid you in raising your child to love and serve God! We use a Biblical curriculum provided by Lifeway Christian Resources.

We have age-appropriate activities that are focused on the age development of your child. On any Sunday your child may be constructing animals with play-dough, stacking blocks, role-playing through kitchen activities, coloring, painting and playing instruments during music time. All activities are planned to coordinate with the Bible story, focusing on a specific Biblical truth. Each child will learn a Bible verse and be encouraged to apply the truths they’ve learned through Life Application. We want to encourage all parents to know what their children are learning in our children’s services. We do this through providing a weekly take-home paper with activities that you can do with your child to reinforce Bible lesson concepts.

Preschool

Crossroads Preschool Time is for children from birth through kindergarden. We have age appropriate games and activities to drive home the Bible lesson that children are taught on Sunday morning. Scripture is shared with our preschool children in order to teach them that what they are learning comes directly from the Bible. Our desire for our preschoolers is that they begin learning about the Lord Jesus at an early age which will provide them with a foundation for a personal relationship with Him later on. We have two classrooms in our preschool department (located downstairs). Crossroads preschool realizes the importance of cleanliness for the health of each person and therefore we provide a clean environment by sanitizing all toys and surfaces before and after services. We divide the rooms by ages: one for children birth to two years and another for children ages three to five. This allows our teachers to teach biblical concepts on an age appropriate level. By doing this, our preschoolers are able to gain a better understanding of who God is. Preschool Check in Procedures (Our children’s ministry volunteers are required to receive background checks to ensure the safety of your family!) Our volunteer teachers will provide you with all the information you need and will be available to answer any questions you might have, but basically you give your name, child’s name, any special instructions to the volunteers. They will provide you with a numbered security card that matches you to your child. Please make sure you write down your cell phone number on the sign-in sheet and keep your phone on vibrate during the service in case we would need you to come and attend to your child. Parents are more than welcome to come down and get their child adjusted to the new environment and then return upstairs for the message. All children may be picked up downstairs at the conclusion of the main service. Please present the security card you were given in order to receive your child. The safety of your children is a top priority for Crossroads Church and therefore we take this process very seriously. Only the person holding your child’s matching security card number is allowed to pick-up your child. For questions or concerns, please CONTACT US!

K.E.W.L Kids (K-6)

Crossroads Children’s Ministry is full of K.E.W.L Kids… Kids Energetically Worshiping the Lord!
(Grades K – 6)

We believe that the hour that we are with your children is one of the most important hours of their week.  Our purpose is to provide children with the tools they need for faith in Jesus Christ, a desire to be obedient to Him, and a love for Him that will remain throughout their lifetime.

When do the K.E.W.L. Kids meet?

Kewl Kids meet downstairs in the KEWL Kids Clubhouse on Sunday mornings during 11am gathering.  It is dismissed at the beginning of the service after our worship band leads us in response to God through music and remain downstairs for the entirety of the service.

What do type of curriculum does Crossroads use for the age group? The Gospel Project for Kids
What is the Gospel Project?
The Gospel Project for Kids is a Christ-centered Bible study resource that follows a chronological timeline of Bible events—presenting the story of redemption through Jesus like kids have never seen it before! Each week, these stories come to life through video, music, activities, and more. (See video below!)
